Soon local families near Jicaro Island Eco Lodge will change the way they cook their food. They will begin using biogas obtained from a small pig farm. This project arises from Jicaro Island Ecolodge’s motivation to improve both social and environmental surroundings in the local community, and now it has become a reality.
The purpose of the project is:
• Protect the environment by no longer have to cut trees for firewood for food preparation (cooking).
• Generate and increase options for obtaining financial resources (through the sale, purchase and management of pigs)
• Disseminate alternatives and experiences to guests and families for the creation and ownership of an ecological alternative.
