Recently we had a guest, Christian, from Colombia who was accompanied by his friends Maura, Barbara, Luca and Paolo. During their stay at the hotel, they also visited the islands and Mombacho volcano.
The day after their arrival, they decided to take a boat tour to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding the Peninsula Asese, where Jicaro Eco Lodge is located. They were also interested in knowing the customs of the local people and the biodiversity of the area. They visited a family of local artisans where they purchased some souvenirs. They watched birds of different species and different species of monkeys as well.
They stopped on the island of San Pablo where the ruins of a military fort are located. It was built during the colonial times in the year of 1784 to defend the city of Granada from filibusters and pirates from the Caribbean sea.
