It is the Cashew .Nicaragua’s tropical tree.
The cashew tree is found mainly in the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, and in parts of the Caribbean coast. Its fruiting period occurs in summer from December to April. In Nicaragua we have two types of cashew: yellow apple and red apple. The outer seed is the true fruit. This is roasted and you end up with a delicious tasting fruit which is sold by street vendors.
