Besides relaxing at Jicaro Island or exploring Lake Nicaragua and the nearby city of Granada, there are many other tours and activities you can do while stayiing with us.
One of them is our Tour to the UNESCO world heritage site, the City of Leon.
The tour begins in the morning when we will drive you towards the City of Leon. On the way to the historic and former capital city of León, we will pass beautiful views of Lake Managua, the impressive Momotombo volcano, and much of Nicaragua’s agriculture heartland. At your arrival, our local guide will be waiting to show you the way to Cerro Negro. Hike up to the top of the volcano, where the rest of this unique adventure begins: sand board down the hill as you take in the amazing aerial view of the area!
Next, your day continues with a visit to the first city of León built in 1524 by Francisco Hernandez de Córdoba. The city was abandoned by its inhabitants 60 years later because of volcanic activity caused by Momotombo Volcano. In the year 2000, León Viejo was declared by UNESCO a “heritage site of humanity” as a symbol of Spanish conquest. Following that, we will discover the charms of the actual León, enjoying the attractions of this cultural city, its churches, monuments, markets.
