The great kiskedee is one of the most common flycatchers in Nicaragua. Every morning it announces its presence by the pool at Jicaro. This bird is easy to identify because it tells us its name “kis- ka-dee”. They eat different species of insects, beetles, lizards, earthworms, grasshoppers and sometimes frogs. Look at this one protecting and feeding its chicks close to the swimming pool at Jicaro Island Ecolodge.
